Going Down

It was only until Annie had shivered when John remembered how cold it was. She did look like she was still a bit worn out, with the groan. He was still rather worried about her, though gave her his hand with only some hesitance.

Annie was exhausted but she had to show him. She promised... Didn't she? She couldn't remember. She shook her head, feeling a little dizzy. It soon faded and she started floating for no apparent reason other than she could. She led John with her and stopped when she saw a hole in the ground. "Oh... Well, that isn't right..." she frowned. She looked at John. "Let's get out of here. Quickly. Run!" she said and backed away from the hole. There was a strange warmth radiating from it and Annie knew that was abnormal.

John did see the harm in a hole in the ground. I mean, couldn't they just fly over it? Even John could use his wind powers to fly. But, on the other hand, she was half ghost, with much more knowledge on the spiritual world than Johnathon. He tensed his grip on her arm and, with some air powers for extra speed, he started to run away from it, backwards. He would have straight up flown, but the place had old wood and questionable structure, and felt that if he flew with her something would have broke.

"And why are we running?" He asked, in the middle of his run.

"That wasn't there last time I was down here. And if you notice, the air around it was warm. It isn't right," Annie said, keeping up easily by floating beside him. "It'll be safer if we get back up top and plan what to do next."

"Get up?" John asked, a questioning look on his face as he stopped running. "I can't get us above ground. You can. If you need to rest, though, it's completely understandable." He told her, a light, but yet still a little worried smile went across his face. He could get her to drink more blood, but that was a bit too awkward for John to do again -- at least in a situation like this where he thought they were perfectly safe.

"I can get us up to the subway without fainting," she said. She looked up and concentrated, clickering between tangibility and intangibility.

"All right," John nodded, his face giving a comforting smile to her (or so John hoped). He sent his hand to her, knowing he would most likely have to carry her back to her house or something, so she could get some rest -- she looked like she needed it.

She caught his hand just in time to turn them both intangible and then fly them up and up, toward the hole. Her grip wavered a little but it wasn't until she was through the hole in the subway that she collapsed. Her head hit the ground and she was out, a little blood coming from the cut made on impact.

"Annie!" He said, almost instinctively saying it as she fell on the floor unconscious. He didn't know why, even though she told him she would fall unconscious...

Wiping his mind again, he looked around and first examined the wound on her head. No, it wasn't too bad. Nothing to worry about for the time being, anyway. There wasn't too many people around...he placed the body over his back, and going outside to a place where there weren't any people, flew up in the air with Annie and shot to the direction of her house.
